• Our elementary student Doğa Abbasoğlu became the third at the third poem reading competition of OKSEM.
• Our GAU Girls Youth Basketball team has won the 2nd place in North Cyprus.)
• Our GAU Boys Star BasketballTeam has made it to the finals. They will play the championship game on Friday(11/5/12).
• Our Year7 student Görkem Koyutürk has won the championship in the North Cyprus 50 metres free style swimming competition.
• Our International Middle School 4th grade student Ceysan Enver has won the 3rd place in 100 metres free style swimming competition in North Cyprus.
• Our year 11 student Korman Bablonkay came in third in the long jump in TRNC.
• A cleaning compaign organised by Girne American University, TRNC Ministry of Tourism Culture and GAU Group of schools took place on Thursday 5th April

• Girne Amerikan Koleji (GAK) Erkek Masa Tenisi Takımı Konya’da yapılan “Türkiye Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Gençler Masa Tenisi Şampiyonası’nda beşinci oldu.
• Şerife Hikmet achieved first position worldwide (over 80 countries) and recieved her award in a special ceremony.

• We welcomed a group of students from Gladesmore Community School to GAU The American
• We had a captain elections this week.
• We had a fire drill on 07/10/2011 coherc teachers and students learnt how to evacuate the building in as quick a time as possible
• Our current year 12 student Faika Kuşappi was selected by the Fulbright Commission of the uS Embassy to go to BFTF
• Students from The International Prep School joined with parents and invited guests, to celebrate reading. For Year 1 students it was their Reading Celebration and for the older students it was the final of the school's Inter-House reading competition.
• To encourage the children to practice their tables we held a Sponsored Tables test and used the money to buy library books for the school library.
• I would like to thank all the students that attended our Halloween Party. It was great fun.
• GAU Group of Schools for a ceremony to commemorate Cyprus Independence Day, which will fall next week during the Bayram on 15th November.
• The American Elementary School commemorated the death of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and remembered his great achievements both for Turkey and as an international politician.
